As a second-generation florist and horticulturist, Sue Fase of Hooper, NE, loves to grow unusual flowers and vegetables. “I owned and operated a retail flower shop for ten years. In 1990 I decided to pursue my interest in growing, processing and designing with dried flowers,” Sue says. After she and her husband Ken bought their current home and land in 2004, they opened TLC Country Floral on the property. “Our growing season is busy with tours of the gardens and seminars at our freeze-dried floral business,” she notes.

“We purchased our Estate Elite Greenhouse with the anticipation of using it strictly to start our own plants,” Sue explains. Growing many uncommon annuals, perennials, tropicals and vines in the greenhouse, Sue and Ken were surprised at the popularity of the flowers. She continues, “We never realized that the many unusual plants we were growing would be in such demand by our customers, therefore we have ‘grown’ into a new, larger Gothic Pro Greenhouse.”

Sue is excited about the possibilities that the new greenhouse will provide for their business. “In addition to growing plants for use on our grounds, this greenhouse will give us the opportunity to give our customers access to the unusual plants that we grow. Even our winter visitors can still see some of the plants we grow. This greenhouse is going to generate a lot of excitement about gardening!”

Presentation is especially important in the growing business. With their grounds covered with beautiful plants and flowers, they must consider the appearance of anything they add to the property, and both greenhouses fit the bill perfectly. “The shape and style of our greenhouses fit in well with our landscaping and other buildings,” Sue explains.

Eager at the prospect of expanding their business with the help of the new greenhouse, Sue says, “We love our new Gothic Pro Greenhouse and are going to get so much use from it.”
